Dear ‘Post- Baby Weight-loss’ Time Keepers! Weh-Done!
So, today I came across a post on Instagram by a mummy blogger @judgejudyjudy. She usually posts happy videos/pictures of some of her fun routines as a mum… from yummy recipes, shopping, to even the hustle of job hunting. I find her quite unique… she is raw and I find her live videos very interesting. Anyway, in her typical manner, she posted some pictures of her happy self today… below is the ‘foolishness’ someone decided to display on social media…
First of all, this lady had her second son barely 6 months ago… 6 freaking months ago!!! I applaud her for applying restraint in her response to this insensitive woman. From the comments on the picture, I gather that this ‘weight loss time keeper’ is actually a mother who should know the struggle we have to face, after pregnancy takes it’s toll on our bodies. My second son is 2yrs+ and I am still yet to attain my desired weight… how dare you give a woman with a 6 month old grief about her weight! Is it your fat? is she your sister? why so interested? are you a ‘winch’?… Like just step the hell back with your need to have an opinion on the weight of a woman who just had a baby.. she may even still be nursing… step the hell back!! Nonsense!!
Now, don’t get me wrong… staying healthy is paramount, and anyone who decides to ignore that is being ‘silly’… however, such insensitive remarks make some women choose not to procreate… some do not eat right post baby, thereby tampering with the supply of healthy breastmilk to the baby. My mum always told me while I nursed my kids.. “Nina, I’m not saying you should eat for ‘two’.. but you must eat enough for ‘one’… VERY ENOUGH”… so ‘biko’ free us!
Also! your weight does not express how healthy you are… I can easily say I’m currently the healthiest I’ve been in my entire adult life. I watch what I eat, I work out, I’m on top of my vitamins, i drink A LOT of water… but, I’m definitely not the skinniest I’ve been in my adult life… when I embarked on crash diets, starvation and swallowing all those weight-loss pills. Biko, no energy… I am happy that I can now eat right… and eat well.
Soooo, to all you time keepers, lurking around… trying to help count our calorie intake and fat increase… I say, take that opinion and stick it wayyyyyyyyyyyy up your behind. We no need am.. we no want am… The END!
